The MDM is a professional orthogonal drafting machine made in Italy by Emme. It is built on an anodised aluminium profile, with horizontal and vertical carriages sliding on ball bearings.
Horizontal and vertical brakes sit close to the protractor. The drafting head has a double joint and a 360° protractor with a bigger handle and zero adjustment, automatic 15° rotation and free rotation with locking at intermediate angles.
Vertical movement is balanced with a counterweight and the reinforced upper attachment is cast aluminium. The MDM mounts to drafting boards with aluminium attachments and comes with a pair of dual-use (pencil/ink) aluminium and plexiglass rulers, scaled in cm.
